  2. also.. my cluch return spring is snapped, and the gear coupling could do with replacing along with the reverse switch.

    Good stuff that 123

  5. had nearly a whole day on the bus today!

first up i cut some rot out of the bulkhead behind the drivers seat belt mount and put some solid metal in.

    isnt finished in this pic..

then i started to look at where the arch meets the b post.

cleaned up and fe-123'd in the hole.

then i made this little bit..

got that welded in and looked at the seat belt mount..

    pretty much finished.

then turned back to the front of the cargo floor.
got the two floor sections i made welded in.

then a strip for the bottom of the bulkhead dent.
this was pretty hard to get the righ shape for.

    welded in.

pretty pleased with the fact that i could keep the floor repairs as inconspicuous as possible.

Great work on the floor, but when you fit the door seals and slam the old door, you're going to regret the small piece you welded in just above the wheel arch... but you'll find that out when you try and fit the arch.

  7. Do you mean the bottom left corner of the odd shaped bit i welded in? I.e it pokes out slightly?

I sussed that earlier when i looked at the pic, didnt look that out when i did it. Needs some fettling :/

Ar me hearty, that's the bit. You need to keep the curve flowing as you spotted.

  9. Yeah cheers zed ill have a look at it tomorrow morning.
I posted the pic and thought.. Hmm that pokes out a bit. Ill just nibble a bit out and re-weld.

  10. got a fair bit more buttoned up this morning, first up I welded the inner and middle sills in fully.
then i moved onto welding in the rear jacking point, its not 100% in yet though..

then I jumped onto the cargo floor, the big panel i made wasn't 100% straight, so I decided to cut it to bits and weld in about 4 parts.
I've done the long back section and the front weird shaped bit,

I moved onto the front wheel tub bit next, the strip of old arch was really well welded on, and the metal was thin so I decided to just replace it,
I made some sections up and did it in 2 parts..

  16. Cheers mate.

When I originally removed the battery tray there was a sort of silicone stuff used around the battery tray etc basically to fill the gaps I think.
Anyone know what it is? It needs to be paintable so it can't be silicon can it?

  17. seam sealer I would of thought mate:)

  18. Yeah, seam sealer... use sikaflex or tiger seal

  19. tiiiiny tiiiny update today.
went out this morning and cleaned up the rear light hole.

then spent an hour prepping the rear valance, drilling holes for spotwelds, painting the inside etc.
    then got it on..

then as I was cleaning up the welds.. got a bit of metal in the eye (i was wearing goggles) which buggered me up for the day, tried to get it out for an hour, then spent 2.5 hours down the doctors getting it out.
