  1. todays update, started on the bit near the battery tray..

then made a little weird shaped bit for the bottom..

    then onto the cab floor.

the floor repair panel i bought was a shockingly bad fit so i butchered it a little..
    then painted the bottom.

    Coming along nicely!

There are so many different cab floor styles. VW Heritage have a good selection through the years, LHD RHD... Some suppliers just sell a generic "not far out" panel.

  3. cheers Zed. yeah i know, i bought a JK one when i first got the van, and it was WAY out, so i sent that back and got a RHD one from VW heritage. was only £30 so wasn't expecting it to be great, but it was way closer than the JK one.

also.. i fixed that sticky-outy-it earlier..

Mines made out of old shelving whacked on for the MOT 2 years ago. You don't see it. ;)

  6. I got my floor repair panel from schofields, fit's pretty much spot on but could do with the pressings being abit more like the original but wont be noticeable once fitted

  7. What's the big thing under the accelerator pedal?

space for the accelerator mechanism to travel into... mine has this.

That panel doesn't have the holes and captive nuts for the accelerator linkage tho.

  9. It's a cut out/recess for the throttle pedal linkage, mines a 78 so must be different somewhere, same as the original that i removed tho

  13. I'm needing to replace all the bolts that go on the rear engine mounts. The ones either side of the bar. Will any bolts do? Thinking of just getting some bolts from Westfield fasteners. Anyone know?

  14. Im pretty sure there normal bolts and not high tensile
Any loading from the engine bar is taken up by the rubber mounts

  15. So normals fine yeah? I can't imagine they would break anyway.

  16. Ive just stripped my original mounts down today so ill see what markings are on the heads for you tmw

  17. Oh does it say on the bolts if they are high tensile or not? I have the original bolts, it's just all the threads have basically rusted so want to replace them with something, and obviously want the new bolts not to not break.
