Found this Lake and Elliot S411 15CWT jack i used to use on my bug. Its now missing its handle so i'll have to make one from solid bar or something.
Went for a bit of a run around this afternoon to make sure everything is OK for its MOT next week and passed the 100 mile mark on the odometer. I could really do with a bigger garage.
Seeing as its neary Christmas i've made my speedo light up like a christmas tree. LED bulb installed in HRW position as i could never manage to get the full battery voltage to the bulb socket so the bulb was too dim to see.
Took bug for her MOT at 1pm today but after putting some fuel in on the way she refused to then restart at my inlaws. Not had a problem all year but its been cold and damp today. Figured its a choke thing as having someone holding the choke open while the throttle was fully opened was the only way to get it to start. Missed its 1pm MOT slot so she sat waiting for a 3pm slot. Started fine for them but when i went to pick it up it had just been driven out the garage so refused to start again. Drove the 3 miles home switched it off to open the garage door and it then restarted like nothing was wrong.
Passed with no advisories. A massive 107 miles between MOTs atleast meant nothing had worn out and even all the new balljoint rubbers survived the year which seems like a good result considering how carp the quality of rubber stuff is now.
I want to get out on the slippy roads and have some RWD fun again but the amount of salt thats been spread around puts me off it. Driving a modern car with all its safety bells and whistles as a daily instead of my caravelle makes for a safer but not neccessarily more enjoyable driving experience.
Yeah I’m with you on the salted roads. My bus won’t be going out any day soon. Mind you, plenty of rain here since last gritting.
Afraid ours gets used, plus heated seats are amazing. Must admit its a pain when really cold on first start up. Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
