Looks nice, alloys suit it and the accessories are not over the top, just right. You should be pleased with it :D

  4. I've tried to keep it looking like it was built in the 70s or early 80s. Most of the accessories are around 40 or more years old. I overheard someone say that their beetle they had in the late 70s looked pretty much the same.
It was funny hearing someone say i haven't seen one of those Humphrey Thompson emergency windscreens in about 40 years.

I still need to find some centre caps for the 8 spoke replicas but the holes are 67mm and most of the centre caps are 63.5mm.

  6. Cheers.
North East apparently had cloud and drizzle. West coast was 20+ and sunny. :)

I made sure i parked far enough away from the golf that she didn't pick up any of that water cooled muckiness. :D

  7. Bug dragged out of its nice dry garage and forced out in the rain while the caravelles gear linkage is broken.

Tow bar just touches the road on steep drives. Only took some paint off. Electrics socket doesn't fare as well as the bottom is now worn flat.

  8. Small amount of paintwork touched up. Weather had been so warm I had to thin the paint a bit more and it dried in a few minutes.

  11. Is that Ford peppermint green by any chance?

  12. Where do you get cellulose from? I can only get the air dried converted two pack in cans, it takes an age to harden and isn't oil, petrol or heat proof :(

  13. Its a RAL colour called Mint Turquoise. Code 6033.

I bought from these guys on ebay:

  18. Replaced the speedo cable that snapped on the way back from Tatton. Took her for a run out today and the speedo screamed its head off. Stopped and disconnected the cable from the back of the speedo and all was quiet again meaning it was the speedo head seizing up.
Squirted some vaseline thinned with a few drops of oil into the connection where the cable goes using a small syringe and all is quiet again. :)
