    Funny you should say that.
    In the late ‘70’s, ecstasy, was apparently distributed through a cafe that used to be here, from Bristol, in powder form, way before it was made into pills, so the storey goes...

    The oldest landlady in Somerset runs a pub in Frome ( pronounced Froom ).

    I wrote something about that, for my English lit exam.
    Loads of Roman campsites around here. Frome is home of the Roman hoard, that was found last year, by a metal detectoist.
    I always imagine that ‘Frome’, was a sort of abbreviation as in ‘F(or). Rome, sort of thing.
    Got a ‘A’.

    Its a place that is sort of on the way from Bristol to Southampton when I am doing one of my 'going down stupid small roads or slow A roads' in the bus. I have been past it a few times.

    Frome can only be accessed via the canal there are no roads in Frome. It’s known as the Venice of Somerset

  14. Frome railway station is an architectural gem. An original GWR wooden train shed over the platform and running lines dating from 1850 makes it a unique survivor.

    Are you sure?
    Lois Maxwell, who played Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond film series from 1962 to 1985, lived in Frome from 1994 to 2001.
