Think it was to avoid tax on Export vehicles ...Part build or something like that and they were finished of at the country they were exported too . Fodens used to pack the whole shebang when exporting if there was tax issues . Think they had a build up factory in South Africa at one time ,JCB also did it for a time .
Children making their own way to school. I never got a lift once. Ever. My mate Leigh did used to get a lift, but his dad was a dairy farmer and the lift was actually an early morning milk round.
Part of that is shutting small schools in favour of big centralised ones. We never gave ours a lift but they had to use a bus to get to secondary school, it was 5 miles away.
On frosty morning’s walking to school the cobwebs looked fabulous like an icy silk climbing net. We snap a Y shaped twig from the hedge and twirl the cobwebs up in the V to form a spider lolly
