  1. Journalists embelish reports with untrue detail completely changing the perception of the event in order to add to hysteria and fear of the public. From what ive heard and read this morning this is unlikely to have been an islamic extremist attack. Just a nutter with a gun, addicted to violent video games and probably emboldened by the current climate. Is it coincidence that most of these attackers seem to already be criminals or have psychological issues. Or is that just , again , propoganda. Time will tell when the truth outs, but noone really pays attention to that.

This event was awful. Its becoming a weekly event now. I wonder when it will be our turn again.

It seems to me that we are becoming immune to these shocking events already :(. Another day another atrocity somewhere in Europe and it's not even the main news.

  7. I don't see any parallel whatsoever in your statement. Are you trying to imply that the Irish are some kind of different race of people who should be separate from the British/ English? I know Irish republicans try to claim that they sprouted up out of Irish soil different from the English, but's it's laughable. Their DNA is Scottish and the whole Irish culture was largely a Victorian invention which of course coincided with the rise of nationalism. The rest of it is borrowed from British culture.

Occupation?? A colourful choice of words. The Norman English were invited to go to Ireland by the request of the Church of Rome. They were sick of Irish rebellion, lawlessness, priests doing non-priestly things. This was a time when the Normans were starting to spread their influence to other countries, marry into European families to increase power, so it suited everyone. Annals of the time, state that the Irish population largely welcomed the English army as it brought stability. But of course, this didn't suit the Irish Catholic Church who didn't want to be brought into line with Rome. So when you have the Irish Catholic Church writing the history and teaching generations of children, who do you think fuelled this hatred of the English all these centuries? So yes, move on.
