Gearbox selection issues

I used clear wheel lacquer on mine. But somebody will be along shortly to sell you half a tin of gold paint - run away!

That gold paint seems to have dissolved half the ribs. I’ll leave my 6-rib au naturel.

I think Rob Parry used spray wheel paint on my crankcase. Seems to have lasted.

 

Lacquer definitely leaves your ribs intact

Oo I’m liking the gold colour......a trip to local auto parts store is on the cards I think for today.

 

I like what you have done there, picking out the rib web detail and the bolt heads in another colour.

 

The more I look the more I’m being drawn to the gold paint.....I think it’s the way forward.

 

Gearboxes should look like filthy pieces of crud surely?

get your energy invested in making your bus go faster or some other actual improvement, who looks at a gearbox?

 

I have to admit that was a temporary box. Mine came back clean from being mended, it might even be coated in something, I'll have a look next time...
