F1 thread for 2012

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Baydreams, Mar 12, 2012.

  1. Shouldn't F1 be about a driver being able to push his car to the limits all the time, throughout a race, instead of worrying about his tyres, which are suited to some tracks and not others? To me, it seems tyres are putting too great restrictions on man and machine. That's why we've such a topsy turvy Championship. Tyres are having too much of an influence. Restrictions, influence; all of that is fine. My argument is that it's way over the top.

  2. Monaco here we come! And, to all the Schumie bashers out there, who've again jumped on the band wagon after Spain and again talking of nothing but retirement at the end of this year (just as they were at the end of 2011) - you dunno what you're talking about. ;)

ross brawn quoted today not enough has been done by the team to secure msc his first podium of his comeback, he also states that team msc includes msc himself.....

  4. with the lack of live BBC coverage i can't get into the F1 this year

google premier streams and you will be fine

  6. I still think RTL Germany's a good bet. Cystal clear pics and Radio 5 live on the mobile and headphones.

  9. Good exciting quali today, bit worried about the way Jenson seems to be going this season. Its obvious the car is there, but where is he............

yep, jenson seems to be a tad down...... msc did well webber for the win

  11. Schumie for the podium today and to push for the win (very difficult I know in Monaco if starting in 6th). At least, pole qualifying has turned the media around. Gosh, they're such a fickle two-faced bunch of idiots, always going with whichever way the wind is blowing. I still tip Hamilton to be world champion for 2012, Schumie for 2013. As for Maldonardo. What a plonker!

I do feel sorry for Maldonado, 10 places for the crash & then another 5 for the gearbox change.

Webber for the win but I'd keep an eye on Grosjean starting from 4th, no doubt there'll be a coming together somewhere before the end of the first lap.

how many years has it been the 1st 3 (from quali) finish on the podium? or am i imagining it? anyway it's a boring race really but it's monaco innit? there's always a shunt or two and that adds to the fun, don't look like the predicted rain is gonna come though.

  16. Dont know what to predict today, think the tyres might make it a bit different from last year (which was only the same as years before because of the red flag if I remember rightly)

Vettel saved a set of tyres didnt he? I think webber will lose P1 off the line....

Going to go with Hamilton win, webber second and I think either a lotus or vettel 3rd.

But most of all, lets hope its not a precession!!!

Both Lotus & Caterham are Tweeting that rain is expected within the next 30 - 40 minutes, that'll make it interesting :)

  18. Can someone tell me, what happened off the line please? Out picking my Kids up!

  19. Terrordales

Good start from most Grosjean & Alonso & Scumacher had a coming together & GRO spun & took out a couple of others Maldonaldo ran into Kobayashi in the melee & knocked his nose off

That was the closest finish I've seen in a long time. ^-^
Well done to Webber, he controlled those last laps beautifully.
