Do you like old aircraft?

  1. We need it to keep flying as it may need to be re-commissioned as I see the new 'Lightning' is grounded for Faiford.

    Here you go. Went over half an hour ago. If I'd been a minute earlier I'd have the camera set up and everything. As it was i looked out of the windscreen and saw the Vulcan dead ahead, dumped the car, grabbed camera and fired. It was lower than I expected too.

  3. They are like huge bat, saw them land in Bahrain in 68
     
  4. I remember a Vulcan flying over our primary school while we were playing football. It was bloody enormous :eek:
     
  5. Working 2 miles from Fairford, loads of stuff flying over but a PITA to get to work!

    The problem is with the Vulcans engines, they are coming up towards the end of the lifetime cycle - the airframe is absolutely fine now but the engines aren't & there are none available, apparently!

    Unfortunately not, from whats been said no one has the capability of producing the parts required. Rolls Royce aren't able to help, its on '558's Facebook page

    BBC look north had just reported the Canadian Lancaster has left Canada and should be landing in Lincolnshire this afternoon.

  18. Looks like the Red Arrows are flying over Newark. May get chance to head over to Lincoln. Camera is ready but rain is forecast.
