Do you like old aircraft?

  1. Had the priv1lage of seeing Ray Hanna winding up a P-51 Mustang at West Malling Airfield just before it was de-activated. Never forgotten it as I only a few yards away when it was fired up...something I guess would not be allowed now.

  3. Did you know the RAF will do a free flypast for you?

Isnt that pretty amazing? Maybe the Late Bay should look into that as a camping one off? Mind you we drive German vans - would that fit in?

That's right, I think it's based in Wanaka where they have the Warbirds Over Wanaka Show every Easter

  5. They used to do much the same at Middle Wallop not so long ago. Remember seeing some fellow overprime the Merlin in his Spitfire, then sit calmly cranking the starter (the approved procedure) as great flames shot out of his exhaust pipes.

For an additional fee, the RAF will "deal" with any old German vehicles that may be present ;)

  6. no need the vans will eventually dissolve by themselves haha

I had a bit of a giggle that the RAF fitted a Gopro to the Lanc :D

  14. Today we had a flyover from the company spitfire. Griffon powered, which is sweet but not as good a soundtrack as the Merlin.

  15. Lucky enough to see both lancasters plus the 2 BoBMF spitfires at Eastbourne air show today. An awesome sight combined with the soundtrack of 10 merlin engines.

  16. They're on the BBC news parked up at Biggin Hill at the moment.

If you are on acebook check out 'RAF banter and bullocks what' site. They have some great videos, photos and humour.
