Do you like old aircraft?

There's been a hawker hunter flying round at scampton the last few weeks.

 

One was buzzing RAF Wyton a few weeks back, I remember them taking off in pairs from RAF Muharague Bahrain in 1969

 

A Westland Whirlwind Helicopter, either a Mk 10 or a Series 3 flew over my house a few evenings ago.
A sight for sore eyes, as I used to operate the type in the Middle East and in Africa, 47 years ago!!
I had forgotten how quiet and slow they were.

Just had the Vulcan fly very low level over the house.
Too slow with my camera though.

 

You should know all about the Lincolnshire one terrordales its last big flight was in1966 when it flew from Australia to the uk

 

I remember it out here, shame we didn't keep it

Guy down the road from us used to fly hunters, ***** in a spin apparently!

 

Nooo...it's cool Whether I'd rely on an ejection seat that's probably been bought off eBay is another matter...

BBC look north is reporting today is the last flight of the Vulcan bomber.

 

It's taking off from Waddington at 11.15. I'm at the dentist at 11.00 otherwise I would have gone over.

 

Rebook the theeth fitting.

 

Nothing on their Farcebook page about that, they are off to Farnborough to validate their 2014 display sequence ready for the airshow next week.

 

Considered it but I've already put this on off once before.
Hopefully see it fly over again as it's been a bit of a regular this year flying south from Lincoln

Say it will display at Farnborough but that could mean its sat sitting on tramac.

 

As far as I'm aware the reason they are flying down to Farnborough is to get final approval for their flying display.
They are still selling raffle tickets to win a flight along side it during the summer

They also said its due to be retired after this years season so maybe another flight or two in it.
