Cherry picking quotes from a man who died a long time ago and lived when attitudes were very different to now, doesn’t really help you get your point across.
Well said but you're probably wasting your time with this one; he's not worth a response. He just pops up on here Marmite stirring whenever he sees a vaguely political thread title. Ignore him and maybe he'll crawl back under a stone.
My point is that those attitudes are still prevalent among certain groups and are being conflated with 'over population' and environmental concerns, which actually obscures the real drivers of the current global ecological problems we're facing. Modern 'shareholder' capitalism and it's inexorable focus on economic growth for profit generates waste and inequality on a gargantuan scale. The human population is not growing exponentially as many will have us believe. The growth rate is actually slowing and will stabilize by 2100 according to the United Nations. Ghandi's famous quote on greed and need rings true by my reckoning. (short article here) I think what I'm trying to say is that in times of crisis, natural, man-made, inevitable or engineered, certain actors will always seek to exploit (or exacerbate) the chaos for their own ends, and the 'ideas that are lying around' (to quote Milton Friedman) are frequently chosen to facilitate it. Vaccination without informed consent and enforced sterilization are just two of those nefarious ideas that are 'lying around'
I’m not really sure I know what the point was now. Was it about the rich not being affected by the Virus or something.
For someone who's not worth a response, you seem to have a predilection for stalking my posts...just saying.
Your just quoting influential historical figures in an attempt to support your argument! Cease and desist. Dead people don’t have a point of view or an opinion worth listening to. I’m fact the whole body of empirical research data and philosophical argument is quite redundant! Could you utilise Harvard referencing from now on please.

As an aside, Johnson's recent speach where he applauds the 'sheer might' of the Union, may be his greatest Spoonerism ever.
