Sounds like it'll come good. If it was joker he has history, but that was paying for loads of stuff then going awol without picking it up, which though similar behaviour is rather different.

 

Joker did keep me waiting for a while, a few years back. But he came good so he gets the benefit of my doubt. Just.

This sort of thing is more damaging than our regular navel gazing threads about what's wrong with TLB. I have always had honesty from members I've bought stuff from on here.
I would be cautious if I'm buying something from an infrequent poster and would rather pay extra to cover the sellers PayPal fees but to one of the regulars I'd happily trust their honesty and just send money as a gift.
I've had a considerable amount of money put into my PayPal account a week ago as a gift from someone on here. We've never met and they are completely dependent on me keeping my word and delivering the goods.

If, for whatever reason, I didn't deliver and didn't contact them I would expect to be named and shamed. If it turned out that I'd had a car crash and was in hospital then I could explain online when I got out and trust is restored.

 

trust is all although some people are too trusting, take the sale of my caddy van, a 26 year old chap saw pictures on a forum and paid £3150 into my paypal then drove from port isaac AFTER the money was in - never having met me or done any checks the payment was a gift......
the only problem i've had on here is giving stuff away to a new member who gave the sob story of needing a part - i sent it for free and didn't get a thanks and he faded away, i now scope folk out a bit more.

Just to put things straight
I in no way am complaining about TLB who seem to be doing a great job and a fantastic service to help a lot of people.
I was merely highlighting that not all people on here deserve to be trusted, as the posts show the vast majority are totally trustworthy and a pleasure to deal with.
Yes it was me in the wrong for paying the wrong way through pay pal my mistake
, and basically that was what I was highlighting . Cheap lesson learnt
But watch this space ther is another regular on here who may feature!!!
In the meantime guy bay1 can reflect on his morals and I still am looking for a set of hubcaps if anyone has a set please

 

I've been burnt on here once too. Item very much not brand new as the seller had described. At least I got it though but it was next to useless given its purpose. I'm now much more wary of certain people.

 

@Buddy Hawks sorry I haven't been in touch to send your order I have been in hospital with latex burns around my nether region and I'm afraid your delivery has received several punctures.
I can supply a puncture repair kit but I think it needs a good clean first

I have had the same problem with a fellow TLB member.
I have been in contact with him and what he has told me as the reason for not sending is very plausible. S--t does happen sometimes that is out of your control . Have bought from the web for years in one form or another with no problems at all. So being very optimistic that the items will be sent this week
But it has made me more vigilant now as to who I send my money to without doing a couple of checks first.

 

If they take the money for something and don't deliver within a reasonable time. They should get an instant ban.
If they are legit they will get in contact and sort it out. Better that way than let more people get ripped off, surely?
