It's £72 each including VAT for the new CB filters without any mounting towers for the linkage. If they foul, I can get them machined down, hopefully for a lot less than that. I am happy with the CB filters, solid bits of kit.
Can’t you mount it in line with the current cable outlet and make up new linkage rods. Wouldn’t think it would matter if they were offset and different lengths as long as they both open and shut at once. Just a thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I converted from CB hex to Crank linkage, I just cut the sticky outy bits of the the filter bases with a disc cutter and sanded it (reasonably) smooth. Granted it is not the prettiest of solutions, but it is free, and avoids having to space up tin filter bases.
I got a pair a billet machined ali ones that clear the bajos from Deimos air coooled and the filters from a show. The whole lot was about £80. Deimos seem to have disappeared.
After much debate and a darn good socially distanced look at a friend's CSP hex bar linkage, I decided that, given I don't have a hatch, to opt for the hex bar. CSP do a lovely package, don't they.
The next big challenge was what to do about the air filters. The CB ones that I have, contain the linkage integrated into the base. I would have liked the CSP ones, but my head got the better of me and I discovered CB Performance do standard bases. The big problem is that they don't sell them separately in the UK, in the US I could have bought them for $60. Trouble is shipping to the UK was another $100. eBay to the rescue, a friend found this little lot for £50, including the new gaskets I need. I felt like I was on a roll
Excellent. The CB filters are great, it just the hex bar bit that's utterly rubbish. If you've got Dells, you may need the 7mm(?) spacers so the filters clear the fuel banjos on the carbs. CSP - who else? - sell them.
The price of the standard bases from the US put me off too when I replaced the CB hex bar with the bell crank. Do you have the eBay link, or was it a one off?
I just chopped the hex bar bit off the bases and then ground it down neatly to finish. Or have I misunderstood?
