I was takin the pee as I was just a couple of years behind you in the scooter stakes. A whole new area of conversation my friend. Didnt do my first rally till 1980 when I left the Army.
I bought one because my Mrs wanted one. I was reluctant because of many years of wasting money on old vehicles and my awareness of her lack of tolerance for discomfort and / or breakdowns. The Bay has proved me to be correct in financial terms, although we do both love it!
Rope no rope, Rhd Lhd, original or custom,Devon or Helsinki,Hook up or not, lowered or standard, tub no tub ...Your money your bus your choice
Someone once said to me 'I'm not bothered if its a left hooker or a right hooker as long as its a hooker'
That's a bit like the tag line I came up with for the USB when Chris and @Alex VW Heritage started the club up!! "our induction sucks harder than a whore!!" Wasn't family friendly tho
Yep van with full payload allowable 2175 kg.......615 x 4 equals 2460 kg......plus i had it weighed whilst loaded for a camping trip and it came in at 1735 kg. So 725 kg to spare.
Well answered, tyre technology has moved on, load ratings are where it's at NOT whether it has a 'C' on it.
surely weight transference comes into the equation though? for example on level road with no breaking then yes weight limit is ok, however brake heavily into a corner and the weight shifts from 4 tyres to 1 tyre no?
Indeed and tyre load ratings are deigned to take into account both this and braking forces which are in fact much higher. I had the tyre technologist from Continental explain to me about the old 'ply rating' system and the new EU and Worldwide systems.
