  1. Every other bus on here seems to be an import- Yours a left or right hooker!

I reckon there may be more right hookers. Left hookers just go on about it more

  3. No import here :)

  4. Thats what I was thinking!

  6. It's because they're filthy rich;)

  7. Left. I hate rust. Owned lots of old cars and rust has always been the biggest problem to deal with.

  8. Left, I hate rust too and haven't got the patience, ability or the money to deal with it

Edit: or the sheer perseverance some people here seem to have

  9. I would suspect going through all the angst involved in importing a van , in many cases sight unseen, trusting a strangers talk line etc. and waiting for it to arrive must add something to the feeling of ownership. :)
As for rust well I'm aware of at least one that could be said to have lived in a dry State when it was sold but had spent its first ten years in one of the dampest parts of Canada before being driven down to Los Angeles and eventualy disposed of....

  10. is it really the rust issue or is it that they can curb crawl easier o_O would anyone choose a lhd if all things were equal ?

  11. Ha, never thought of that.

We specifically wanted a LHD as we want to use it over the channel more than here and I reckon it's easier for me to drive a LHD over here than a RHD over there

  13. At my age looking is too much effort

  14. Mines a leftie but as I bought it in Belgium its suffers from the same rust issues.

  15. at my age looking is all i can do

  16. Err, right then left now right again

  17. I tend to see more RHD so I would guess there are more RHD about? The further south you go, Essex, Sussex, London way they all seem to be LHD but I guess that's where the bulk of the importers are.

    I have both. All imports.

2 South African therefore RHD. 1 LHD from the US. 1 neutral as it's just a shell but born LHD :)

Anyhow, I don't recall VW ever manufacturing here so aren't they all imports?
    :)

I've said it before and will say it again (sits back and waits for all the rolleyes from the usual suspects and naysayers...) I personally find the LHD easier to physically drive due to the gear shifting etc being set up more for the LHD, shorter throttle linkages etc. Parts are easier to get hold of too. So faced with a choice I'd choose LHD
    :)

  18. LHD for me as I seem to do more miles abroad then I drive here,

  19. Mines on the right but used to be on the left...

  20. LHD import. The Mrs has even got a LHD beetle. Messes with the brain when driving a RHD UK Car though.
