Another Camper restoration injury [UPDATED with new pics]

Hope you feel better soon and that heals up fine. Had a college teacher years ago with a moustache who admitted to taking the guard off a small grinder at home cos it would'nt quite cut deep enough and it jammed on him, kicked back and cut his lip open badly hence the tash. Lesson to everyone on here, wear your protective clothing, we all get hassled about it at work but i bet most people dont always protect themselves as well as they should when working at home, guilty of this myself.

I work in construction. Have always worn hi vis, hard hat, boots.

Did a big job two years ago where goggles and gloves were also mandatory. Thought it a pain in the aris but after working on that job for 18 months am now accustomed to always wearing goggles or glasses and gloves on all sites. I shudder when I see idiots on some sites not wearing a hard hat or working in trainers. Have seen so many nasty accidents. It's not worth risking.

what i also find amazing on these sites which we at work call gay sites at work (no offence to gays intended we actually mean very camp sites but that doesn’t work)
is they have these stupidly long induction sessions sometime a hour long which amazingly “aren’t needed “when they want the job done quickly because the job needs doing because there behind mainly because they slowed the job down by inforceing needless health and safety

You're a lucky boy & I just showed Ms.T & her response was that you should buy a lottery ticket. She's had similar come through A & E but they haven't been as lucky as you were.
Hopefully it'll all heal up with minimal scarring.

like what other than the combination of my poor spelling I think my post was spot and seeing as I ve been working on building sites for the last 26 years with only one accident in which I cut my arm on a piece of glass due to my safety gloves slipping I think My "h & s" is fine
The problem is people frightened to just do a job because of getting sued
If the original poster had of had a full face mask like people bang on about he more than likely of ended with
A load of molten plastic in wounds aswell I ve also heard people bang on about the guard being off I don't recall the op saying the guard was on or off so why do people assume he was using it without a guard again a guard probably would not of made any difference
At the end the these h&s muppets should really try a day doing these jobs before preaching how they should done
H&s is simple basic honest common sense fact

More deaths at work per year in construction than any other sector. It's getting safer year on year as the dinosaurs used to old habits either die off or retire.

there's more deaths in construction because it's a Dangerous job simple and theres more deaths in contrution becuse other dangerous trades like mining have been killed off

Walking round with hi vis on using pea shooter but only using fresh pea s cos them hard ones could hurt some one

On a lighter note , this might make you smile. Whilst working on site of TVAM many years ago we had a very strict H&S man on site who kept complaining about our erectors not wearing hard hats whilst putting up ducting in roof space, those were the days when peeks were a tad bigger and it made nightmare as you would not see things just above you coz of peek, our erectors took no notice and were warned, anyway, this ,morning whilst on site and up on scaffold with erectors one said " look here comes H&S or was it hitler?? just coming on site" He had no hat on : so erector took aim with m8 nut and dropped it on his head he looked up shouting oooooooooooooowwww and rubbing his head, erector said should be wearing a hat shouldnt we...................................... everyone just peed themselves. Hope its feeling bit better today Kruger and someone got you some straws
