^^^^^ exactly, however on closer inspection that terminal looks to be going into an original clear vw insulator, i could be wrong though
Been asked to pop this down, my friend read the replys. Also think the problem with the ignition might be down to the fact that one of the kids popped the fire Exstig thing ontop of thew battery, which is under the drivers seat, hope that helps. (float chamber never got fuel in, carb has had rebiuld kit, and all been cleaned ect, maybe choke not working properly)
if theres no fuel getting into the float chamber get either an electric fuel pump or even cheaper, get a gallon of fuel and put a fuel pipe directly from it into the carb, suck a bit of fuel through so it will gravity feed then see if you have the same issue still, i see you have a new fuel pump but the 1600ct is a different engine to the standard 1600, check the fuel pump is actually pumping and the fuel pump rod underneath it is actually moving up and down the correct amount and its the correc length
pull th carb top off and have another look at the float level and the float valve, how much fuel comes out of the fuel pump when disconnected from the carb?
turn the engine over with the fuel supply still attached to the carb top so you can see if fuel is getting through the float valve
today i been to gsf and picked up, ign rotor arm, fuel pump push rod - 100mm, fuel pump, dist cap, sparkplug-bosch, got to go 2mrw for ht leads, fingers crossed.
