  1. What’s it looking like when you remove the cover below the window?

  2. It’s a lolly stick

  4. The long bolt on guards?

Those are best left in place to not induce nightmares!
It’s not great. I was considering getting the strip below the windows cut out and re-welded. I’m now thinking that the flakes i’ve hoovered up over the years in that area have actually dropped down from under the roof due to previously terrible gutters. Inside looks perfect.

So i’m considering fibreglassing behind those guards because only one dodgy area encroaches under the window seal. With windows out I can probably shape it nice enough to take the seal better than it was in the first place.

Not a showroom solution but saves me ️ & .

I’ve discovered the state of the chassis you see. That’s a definite welding job.

I knew I should have stayed in bed today......just received the Alternator Adjuster Hole Plug 1700-2000cc -021-119-295 and it does not fit. Looks like my odd cover plate is the wrong shape :(

If you buy the later type tin - I don't know if it fits - I know where you can buy the seal :D

I did think your hole looked a bit mashed. There is only one size of cover

  13. Further to this thread, https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/3d-printed-dash-clock-adaptor.93546/#post-1826398, @AndyC was kind enough to make up another 52mm dash adaptor for me and today (yesterday actually) I swapped out my crappy vinyl covered hardboard DIY effort for something much more professional looking. I was very happy with Andy's work, the adaptor feels super solid and the fit is spot on

Apologies in advance if my cheapie Chinese rev counter offends, I know it's not really 'in keeping' but it's actually really easy to read (with a choice of 6 backlight colours) and at £15 was hard to ignore...

I was thinking that too. I might get a tool to it to see what I can do.

Went like a train. Brakes/new servo all operational and correct. Clutch best it's ever been. There's always stuff to do but I've got the rolling project I wanted at last. I'm even going to close it up underneath and put the pedal pan on!

If it's any consolation, they pretty much all get like that with previous numpties prising the alternator against the tin. You should be able to straighten it out sufficiently.
