  1. I always manage, with 100% consistency, to complete breakfast, lunch, power nap, dinner and multiple cups of tea and coffee. Not doing too badly then hey

Its a JK cardboard box. Cats like sitting in them.
JK stuff always comes with the little pack of jelly sweets in the box. Makes you check for the invoice and the little bit thats rattling around that you forgot under the packing.

  3. Went to `ye shoppes`. Only the second time out this year so took longer than normal to start but that was down to the empty float bowl .
Didn`t get lost but took the scenic route which isn`t easy in SW That London but lovely to be out in the van and about driving through semi countryside ...
Apparently , as of today i can go for a drive as part of my `excersise` regime - brill !!

  4. Takes all the fun out of it if you're allowed to do it :(

What are the nation's curtain-twitchers going to do now? "He's taking that van out again, Alf. Call the police!"

Almost got Major's motor ready to be removed, just got the return to tank fuel line to remove and we are good to go!

It appears that the clutch cable is fraying, the flexible Bowden tube is split, to top all of that, I have lots to do. The panel above the gearbox needs rubbing down and painting, lots of surface rust and old dinitrol to remove.

It'll keep me occupied for a while :)

A good strong pair of pliers and a grip of steel! Starting at the back and working towards the quarterlight I found easier. Make sure you get the wire clip the right way round and push it through all the slots in the rubber before offering it up. Took me about 1/2 hr! Pig of a job. I've got the n/s to do as well :(

Start at back like you did and roll it in one doodat at a time by hand, you'll find each one lines itself up and neatly slots in.
You're on your own when you get to the last one though. Pliers for that one.

  10. Excellent, thank you! (Thanks zedders too). What way round is the correct way for the clips?

Pointing backwards. Have a go as I describe, I've done dozens. :)
If you still have the original clips they are easier to install - better shape and springier steel.

  12. no scrapers at all so it's a fresh install with new clips! Th.anks, will give it a try!

Had half an order arrive from Machine 7, rather annoying but i shall get as much reassembled over the weekend[IMG][IMG]

  14. I am trying to work out if my crankcase breathing is adequate in my type 4 1979 bay... it has a progressive empi Weber copy. Generally, it runs really well... I’ve tinkered plenty to get it running well, but I had a big leak from the nearside rocker cover...

so this morning was push rod tube seals and new gasket.... luckily, I had some knocking about from years ago! hopefully, it seems to have been a success

The standard crankcase breather is fine on a Type 4, however, the progressive Empi isn't.

It beats me why people wrestle with any single carb on a type-4. But then I'm sure you are equally baffled that I have a stock exhaust on mine...and so am I. What was I thinking?!

  17. It was on there when I bought it....seven years or so ago now! Its always run well, well, not always, but I managed to get it running well
I always look for an alternative, probably the stock twin carb set up, but then get distracted........

  18. Sorry, but I've just woken up with a lockdown hangover....
