Just been reading an article about Andy Murray's problem with his hip, he's only made it to 30 so in some respects I should be grateful that I made it to 52 before my first THR. I've planned so many things this year but it looks like my consultants forecast re my other hip was a bit optimistic, so might not be fit enough to achieve my goals.
Aim for the sky Pickles I knacked me back in big time when I was 26 and spent the next 14 years pussyfooting around it. One morning I thought to hell with this and started living again. Backs fine now, shame about the rest
Must have been the first day at work in a long time that I only ate the food that I brought with me and didn't buy any snacks or even a Gregg's bacon butty. Also did a 15mile cycle on Saturday and 30 miles yesterday - I can feel the extra girth that I've acquired Sent from my PLK-L01 using Tapatalk
First Krav lesson for me since the start of dec. can’t say I’m looking forward to it. Also I’ve managed to give myself the makings of a black eye today by hitting myself in the face with a large screwdriver whilst trying to rip out a boiler flue. Doh
Had a Blair Witch Project bumble around Little Almscliffe forestry last night. Staggered back to car shouting "Wolves did it!" know your League Of Gentlemen. Btw @Flakey the single track have been marked with drawing pin sized reflectors for night riding . They work really well.
Enthused by your endeavours I took a run along the front at Scarborough on Saturday. I wanted to see if I’m up to a 10k race along the same route in October. Last time I did this distance was 1985 I think, when I did 48 minutes. I kept going for a hour running and a bit of walking and did about 7.5 k, so I’m going to have to try harder. For my age category, the last man in 2017 was 1:24, so I reckon I can beat that.
Up RoundHill above Blubberhouses tonight and barrowed over 20 tons of rubble at work the last couple of days. Got me climbers forearms back. Mrs P force fed me a huge toad in the hole so no gains.
I'm quite chuffed as I just did my first 10 km "run". I got a Fitbit and tracked it. What I've been doing wrong up to now is blasting my heart rate up much too high and running out of steam. By doing a steady jog 50 steps and a brisk walk 50 steps, keeping heart rate below 130, that's given me the distance. Never mind the lousy 1:24:32 time. Onwards and upwards.
National Trust 10k this morning but I’m too tight to pay £7 to park in Lyme Park so an extra 4.8k to the start and back Trail run, muddy slippery and hilly
