Oi don't you start. I had the pleasure off stopping in Glastonbury yesterday, it was only for a very short while and I thought Bridgwater people was weird. Didn't even attempt to stop in the next town on my way home. ;-)
Whitworth is famous for nothing as far as I'm aware... Rochdale is famous for the more teenage pregnancies than anywhere else...all those rapes...Hitler's love for the town.hall.... And the co-operative its a wonderful place...
Stevenage, Lewis Hamilton the F1 driver and Ashley Young Man utd player (went to school with both of them)
Formby, where I was brought up, not much other than red squirrels and natterjack toads! Unless you count all the pointless football players from Liverpool and Everton that live there! Now... Living in Somerset, nearest town, Bridgwater, inbreeding capital of the UK! Or Street, famous for Clark's shopping village
Dollis hill. NW london. William Gladstone and mark twain lived there briefly. Not much else, proper suburbia really.
my home town of market drayton is famous for the gingerbread man and clive of india, as well as shrewsbury here having a statue of clive of India, and the birthplace of Darwin.
Of course, how could I forget, when the cafe in St Mags Bus Station used to be named after him! So which bit of Leicester are you in then?
Don't tell.I m originally New Parks but moved to nr Loughborough many years ago.Which part are you from ?
Ah, New Parks, home of the brightest and gaudiest Christmas decorations in the county. My inlaws live right close to there in Glenfield. I was originally from Thurmaston, which (while this thread is about what places are famous for) used to be famous for Walkers Crisps (they've moved it all to Beaumont Leys now ) and the flagship Coop supermarket in the region (until Asda moved in next door and killed it off)
