What/who is your hometown famous for?

  2. yep, Queens Elm in Chelsea but not too far from South Ken.
    My mum was a painter and I pretty much spent my youth outside the Queens Elm or Finches (down the road) with a packet of crisps and bottle of coke. Laurie Lee a regular as you said and one of the cartoonists (I think it was Jak)
     
  3. My home town of newport pagnell is famous for Aston Martin, common as muck round here!! peasants!!
     
  4. Tommy Cannon ,you know ,Cannon and ball , lives in our village and runs a boarding kennals,
    He's a nice chap in real life and his real name is tommy Darbyshire
     
  5. I will have to ask mother. My father was Brian Hagger , just out of intrest, he was quiet well known back in his day, then things as they do turned a bit gloomey :)

  7. I grew up in a town called crowborough near tunbridge wells, sir Arthur Conan Doyle lived there and a couple of members of the cure. I've just checked wiki and apparently Gary numan lives there as well.

  11. my hometown is famous for agatha christie, fawlty towers and having palm trees... oh and for being 'the english riviera' (HA!)
    although they're not 'real' palm trees, as they would not survive the winter temperatures of this country.. so who knows what they actually are!

  16. Hornsea pottery and it was my Grandpa and his brother who started it ...so im kindov a big deal haha, but seriously geat retro pottery for 70s lovers!
     
  17. I love Hornsea Pottery. Very stylish, but of its time. I've got the dark brown coffee set.
