  1. Looks like they have improved the fire extinguisher bracket since I got mine :)

  2. To be fair I had considered it myself with the insurance payout I could have the pickup and the beetle I want

  4. I assume therefore your lead had a plug at both ends and a socket on the bus rather than an inlet - what a numpty. Ooops sorry, I forgot. Im not allowed to comment on electrical safety issues!

  6. Ouch!

  7. Bit late now i suppose but even if you have the correct lead and inlet then you should connect the bus end first. Then the hook up end.

  8. Got the horn working last night didn't annoy the neighbours with too many toots.

  9. Yep, found that out during my pre-MOT activities. One of the rear captive nuts of my "new" chassis members had rotted out . Fortunately, the rest is ok. Everything's since been flooded out with Dynax. God knows where this water comes from - it's a mystery. I'd assumed it had wicked up where the bumper irons attach. Always wondered what those little tabs on the rear panels were: I assume they're "gutters" to stop water seeping up on top of the chassis rails.

  10. Checked me oil pipes out after a few hundred miles of running. Everything lovely

  11. It must be coming from higher up as I've got no bumper or irons fitted

  12. Which side is yours coming out of?

  13. Bit more work on my top locker. Looks ok in pics but looks a bit rough. Hopefully finish off and varnish tomorrow. Might look a bit better then. You get the gist though. Be great tomhave a little more storage, and it is only a ltlle but should take my crockery in one side and wash gear etc in the other!

  15. New curtains, auto fire extinguisher in the engine bay and put the wire back on the idle cut off solenoid Should have been a nice day out today if it wasn't for that pesky wire. Nearly ready for our first overnighter

  16. At last fitted the rear engine tin that @davidoft sold to me after refurbishing it and painting up some bits in the noisy cupboard. Old one is falling to bits so engine bay now looks a lot smarter and hopefully will also run cooler . If anyone wants the old one it is free to anyone who wants to collect it - or it is going in the skip. cnew tin.jpg cold tin removed.jpg cafter2.jpg

    Had a mad day.

Swapped Majors alternator for our spare one from Mick.

Put Majors alternator on Gusbus coz the crappy VW Heritage one isn't working correctly, for a change.

Put the feelers out for the heater box assembly for Major.

    Washed and cleaned Gusbus.

I am ready for a beer or three :D
