  2. I ran mine to 120 degrees once, it coughed and spluttered and didn't like it at all.......so I gave it a rest. Better safe than sorry as I was in the middle of Dijon.

It was probably nearer 130 degrees as my gauge reads low :(

If thats real you have probably got a cooling issue. Thats what I used to see with either a sticking flaps/thermostat or air vents blocked (rain shields left on...)
In any case , 70 is too fast for your cooling in these temperatures.
Same situation with an oil cooler at 70 mph..:109 degrees with cylinder head at 135 degrees..Just now, M27 J10 to J8..

  5. I'm quite proud of that! A bit of trepidation putting the screen back in but done it single handed

I must try and find a before:rolleyes: pic

  6. very neat

  7. Just replaced my Empi gear lever with a CSP one - longer lever makes it easier to reach - and it clears the handbrake too. cIMG_2584.jpg cIMG_2585.jpg cIMG_2586.jpg

First go at trimming a seat, should have used thicker piping cord but otherwise quite happy

  13. I didn't have any on when I bought the crewie, but the MDF and the material etc came in at £100. A considerable saving on buying from the usual culprits !;)

  16. You’re right I do have a cooling issue which I am working on to put right as there are several reason why mine does run hot, must say I don’t normally push it to 70 mph I just go a bit carried away at the time and was only doing 70 for about 5 to 10 minutes but like you said the ambient temperature on Sunday were 32 degrees.

Reason why mine does run hot are…

    1) I don’t have engine cooling flaps or a thermostat !!

    2) I don’t have heat exchangers and have J tubes fitted - I do have exhaust heat tape wrap that I bought, just need to get round to wrapping the J tubes with it. ( I plan on doing it this weekend )

    3) My foam engine bay seal is old and perished - Have ordered a new one.

    4) For two weeks have been driving around without being able to close the engine lid because of a waste of time new engine lid rubber seal - which I have now replaced with a decent one that does now allow the lid to close.

    5) I have a 123 ignition tune which I installed and set up and I think my advance is too much causing it to run too hot, it is set for 32 degrees advance at 3500 rpm - I must and will get round to getting it set up probably at a rolling road.

  17. What lid seal did you get. I've bought 2 now that fit beautifully but I can't close the lid. I've let the hinges out as far as they will go.

  18. Eventually I bought a alanhschofield one, which is softer rubber apparently and my lid did close.
