  1. I use one of these through the vents, as 99% of the time whomever has previously painted in the corners, will not have done any surface prep in the corners!!

Then once I've done that to get as much loose stuff off as I can reach, then I go at it with my grit blaster filled with soda, which lifts all of the remaining loose paint, and keys the OG paint without burning through to bare metal

Mine's like this, but it has a long metal wand, so I can get right through the vents

  2. It wasn't too bad tbh

Couldn't get right into the corners, but got the worst of it cleaned up, had to get in from the engine bay, but could also squeeze it in through the vents.

  3. Today's update,

  4. Nice work. I hate sanding stuff.

  5. Haha me too, I think the filters on my mask are knackered too as I'm spitting up more filler than I put on the bus :/.

  6. @ carlperkins001 what are you using to sand with especially the floor good work

  7. Cheers mate, I use a mouse sander to do all the top bits. Then 80grit foam sanding blocks to get in the grooves, then for any tricky bits just some 80grit paper.

  8. Its nice to see someone prepping the interior decently:thumbsup:

  9. Ok following the forum crash... This is last weekends update..

Started by getting the inside of the front panel sanded down, and then carried on around the cab floor and walkthrough etc.

This bit was hand painted with dulux, so bare metalled it..

  10. Also finished bare-metalling the cargo floor.

    Got the side strengtheners sealed
    [IMG]

Also did some sealing and filling a bit on the cab floor
    [IMG]

Rust treated the entire cargo floor
    [IMG]

Then lastly measured and marked up the position for the holes on the front panel. I'm going for a larger early style badge, because I think the later ones just look a bit too small.

  12. Eeeeeee you've had balancing weights put on the outside of the rim

  13. Oh god. Yeah why what have i done? The tyre fitter guy said they needed to be there?
I asked for the stick on type but he said it wouldnt work properly :s

  14. They can set up the balancing machine so the knock on weights like you have on there, go on the inside edge of the rim...

Just an aesthetics thing, but one I always do :)

  15. To be fair the guy who done it looked 12. Hahah.
Nah i have beauty rings to go on, cos im a tart. So as long as they fit im happy :)

  17. This weeks update,
Started off by getting the drivers door bodywork finished, then used the dolphin glaze and then re-fitted the door, no pics I'm afraid.

Then carried on sanding down the inside ready for primer, around the windows and the insides of the b posts. Bulkheads and inner front panel.n
Also did some fillering on the cab floor, not necessary but I don't want to see any weld areas after paint.

Then got the new holes drilled in the front panel, and welded up the old ones.

A bit of filler on the back panel

  18. Also manage to get some free flooring,
All cut to size, I need to router some off the bottom to let it sit flat.

  19. hey dude resto is looking awesome! I would just say be careful with that sort of flooring if your not covering it as I used it the first time round and any spillages eg Beer that may occure soak through the grooves and hold underneath the flooring and go smell and rot your bus, it happened to me so thought id mention it:thumbsup:

  20. ^ good point, they will be glued together, and i have a madmatz carpet to go on top so that should hold most of it off.
