I like the email JK have just sent!

"Mark out your spot and get some privacy with the JK windbreak. Featuring folding metal poles, tear-proof Oxford polyester material and additional poles for horizontal rigidity this sturdy windbreak will keep your pitch cosy. Save £15 - Were £49 Now £35"

Who does the maths / proof reading in your place!

Right guys, it's that time of the day and week, and I'm off for the weekend with a head full of feedback.

Please do keep the input coming over the weekend, but I won't be able to get back to anyone until Monday (I had to promise I wouldn't spend my weekend working on this stuff! ::)).

I'm hoping that I can set up a meeting to discuss a lot of the issues and feedback that you've given us next week, but as it's the run up to Busfest it may not be possible, but it will happen!

I hope you all have great weekends, and I'll talk to you next week (or see you next weekend, if you're coming to Busfest!)

Thanks again for all the information you've given us this week :D

  9. Only just read this thread and wow did it take some reading.

We have placed some rather large orders with JK this year ::) (Not suprisingly) and to be fair the customer service has been absolutely spot on - if parts were missing or incorrect - they were here the next day, with no trouble at all other than a phone call to one of the team to inform them of the problem.

The few things that we would like you to look into tho Josh would be for the rear corners to have the rear light lugs on them, and why oh why are there no return lips on panels - really makes a big difference when you are welding them in.

Inner door skins to be available again would be fantastic and re pro door stickers need to say lots of adjustments needed before painting not just any! ;) :laugh2:

Think most people would prefer to reskin their doors rather than buy a replacement as repro ones never fit the same, oh and please please ask if they can get the curve round the arch and cab steps to match to the original shape - the difference is

Got to say we are a little worried about our door seals now :- but :crossed and we will give them a fair try!

Thats our few pence worth for now, but thanks for coming on here to try and sort peoples problems - not everyone gets to shows or has the time to ring during office hours.

    Whoops!
Just going back through all of these posts to make sure I've got every issue and every product listed out, and I spotted an unfortunate typing error on this post:

  12. JK, do you do steering boxes? There's another VW parts supplier (who I won't name as I don't think it's fair - as was the case for this thread) who's now sent me 2 steering boxes. The first one leaked and the second one has got some play in it. The advert on this other supplier's website said the boxes were new. But that's not true - they're recons. And when the boxes were fitted, because the steering still didn't work (we naturally thought 'can't be the steering box, so let's change everything else') I ended up spending one hell of a lot of money.

So, the moral of the story is: All suppliers are generally the same. They're all not perfect. That's because all the parts they supply are not perfect. That's because the parts they're supplied with in the first place aren't perfect. It's wrong to single out JK, when another company has cost me dearly. But that's just part of owning a classic vehicle. Sometimes, it's going to be a headache finding the right parts.

If JK don't do (RHD) steering boxes, can anyone recommend a company who can. A brand new one if poss.

  13. No the moral of the story is quality control starts and ends with the vendor. Since when should the end user be the one to accept faulty or poorly made products? This applies to any business but it does appear to me that we are in a suckers market sometimes. Its all very well being coy about naming companies that give either bad service or sell a poor product but at the end of the day its you the customer who pays up and if out of misguided loyalty says nothing then someone else gets done and so it goes on.

  14. I'm all for naming company's that don't perform as long as it isn't just slanderous and an opportunity is made for said company to respond. The joy of freedom of speech allows us to do just that.

This thread is case an and point.

  16. I have mainly shopped at JK for ... Well .... over 15 yrs... They were one of the few companies around that I knew about and they were good. They were helpful and had specialist knowledge. They always seemed to be at the forefront and made buying what you needed much easier.

Then they became popular. They were still good. That invited competition.. Again good.

Then they went awol... They started diversifying into this and that. The advice wasn't as good and some issues with deliveries or their database. I started shopping in other places. Other sources were now using the Internet and JK wasn't special anymore.

I kept buying from JK but would now always check prices against competition. Easy to do as they were on Internet. Was loyal to JK when prices similar and their delivery times etc were excellent still.. Could be relied on still. Then I could never get through. Damned answering machine. I was no longer special. When I got through I felt as if I was speaking to call centre operatives and very rarely would I get through to an enthusiast. Pot luck. I started calling other places more and more. I started to forget about JK but every now and then would check out their site and buy something for nostalgia reasons more than anything.... Bit like the space hopper, skateboard or the pogo stick syndrome. little things......

kept getting the answering machine. Wished I could leave messages..... Leave mean and nasty messages. gave up. kept being loyal. Answering machine. gave up. Did it online and ok got the goods but had no conversation and had no information. No replies to queries. Gave up. Spent lots in other places... Custom and Commercial, still AH Schofield but they also seemed to like hills..... VWHeritage... Little old VWheritage... They had grown up. they were... They are lovely. i like their goods.. I like their website.. I like the information they give.. They sound sexy on the phone and they help. help?... Nice. i keep buying. I still buy.

I still go on my space hopper........ But they do cheap nasty versions. i don't like those. And the pogo sticks aint what they used to be.

Surprise.... i keep going back to JK and ask this and that and... Nah.. Nothing much. then again I know they are there which is still good. I read this thread and think hmmmm ok ask question on website and I get good answer.. Fast honest answer. I now
Feel comfortable.. Safe.. Warm.....special..... And now I know the item has no rubbish Klokkenkrap in it.... Lyfli.

So please please JK peeps please let us love you again???? i don't want cheap nasty stuff.. I want my bus to be treated to good quality panels.. get rid of the items that give you a poor name and sort out more of the good quality items..... Get rid of cheap and nasty even if they provide you a good mark up as we can honestly get this sort of stuff anywhere. you're not the only major supplier of some of this tat anymore.

Ps.. Some I 'heart' JK stickers with free crossover wheel arch panel is a fair return for free marketing on my bus :)
