  1. Ive been reading this thread, interesting. I decided to look at my folder from my resto and even though I used Heritage, GSF and others, the majority of the receipts are from JK. I recall a few issues including items being invoiced but not in the box. However, I always got an apology and a replacement pretty swiftly. Some of the items were a bit rubbishy and so I bought Heritage parts instead but overall I was pretty pleased. Having said that, I havent checked my retro awning properly yet so fingers crossed

    Hi Guys,

Loving the new thread title! ;D
Threw this together when I saw it (I'd have spent more time on it, but I'm sure you'd rather I spent some time on the products you've highlighted for review! ;))

In reply to some of the issues raised in recent posts:

    JK Panels
I think we're going to do a small campaign on our exclusive panels, with an almost boring amount of information about who makes them, where they're made, why we created them, how they're manufactured etc. and loads of photos of the processes, workshop and finished products.

That way, you'll have a good idea of how it's all done, and can be reassured that the guy who makes them has been working on VW bodies for 20-something years :D

    Loyalty Scheme

We do have a 'loyalty point' system actually built in to our back office system here at JK, but we've never used it because we always struggled to work out the finer details.
Maybe it's time we looked in to it again, though

I'm pestering people about a TLB discount, but everyone is really busy getting ready for our Year End, and the IT Team are busy working on our website, but I'll get there eventually ;D

Really happy to see that this is still going :)
Still waiting to hear back from some people about the issues they've had with us, but it's great to see how many things we have been able to sort out for you guys.

As always, if you've got any questions or comments for us please do let me know :)

    Hi All,

Here's the update I promised you Yesterday!

    Fuel Hose:
We're in contact with Codan about getting replacement fuel line at the moment. They're sending us through some more info about what products they can supply us, and about pricing.
Once we have this we should be able to move really quickly to get it in stock :)
I will of course keep you all updated with this as I hear more, but it's a big step in the right direction

    JK Discount Codes:
I'm hoping to get the code up and running next week, so watch this space ;)

    Chrome:
We've contacted the supplier of the chrome spot light that was brought to our attention, and am asking them what they can do to improve the quality of the chrome finish to make it suitable to our grim UK climate.
We're still awaiting a reply from them, but we're hoping they'll be able to help.
If not, I'll keep you updated with what the Purchasing Department decide to do next.

    Door Seals:
I'll speak to the relevant people here and see if we can get the description changed on the lower quality ones while I wait for a decision about what we're doing with them.

    Hub Clips:
We'll test these out once we've got some more time soon (we've been really busy preparing for Busfest, unpacking from Busfest, and then getting everything ready for our big annual stock take - that I've just escaped from! - which is going on right now.
Soon we'll quiet down a bit and we'll be able to spend some time thoroughly testing these parts.

    Plastic Glove Box Liner:
I've asked some of the managers here if they've had or heard of any issues with these not fitting.
Either way we'll be testing them on the several vehicles that various members of the JK Team are working on in the workshop (it looks like we've gone back to being a garage out there!)

Callipers: Our Purchasing Manager has set up a kit for these, which will be visible once the web updates itself!

    Plastic Grille Mesh:
While I'm very aware myself that these aren't perfect and not all of the holes are punched through on a lot of them, they are genuine VW, fresh from Brazil, and so we're unable to source them anywhere else.
No one else, that we know if at least, is producing these because they're already made by VW themselves.
I don't fancy our chances getting VW to change their production techniques

    Scrapers:
We've made absolutely sure that these are now being sent out in matched pairs, and have separated the stock of mat and chrome scrapers.
I've made it known that any mismatched pairs that are sent out will result in a beating with a sock full of 8 Ball Gear Knobs >:D

    Engine Lid Seal:
Again, we'll check the measurements of this once we've got a bit more time, to check if the measurements on the web are correct.
If not, we'll change the dimensions we list online to avoid any customers ordering them and being disappointed when they go to fit them.

    Service Book:
We'll look in to doing a reprint of these if people found them useful?
Might do a new thread about it to gauge interest before I request a thousand of them to be printed! ;)

    Square Gear Coupling:
I'll speak to our Pete, Product Development Director (such a fancy job description ::)) and see what we can do about these.
Sounds like it should be a relatively simple fix to improve the quality, but he'll know more about it than I do.
I'll let you know what he says and we'll take it from there :D

    Plastic Heater Levers:
We now stock these awesome new aluminium ones (which, unfortunately, aren't showing up online yet!) which are colour coded, but obviously I understand that these aren't the same as the original ones, so I'll speak to Pete and see if we can improve the quality.

If I've forgotten anything, do let me know!
I got fuel hose in there first, just so no one misses it ;)

    Josh

PS: Saw a 'Paint Your Own Gnome' set the other day - half tempted to make you guys some JK Gnomes as prizes - just haven't worked out what the prizes would be for!

Whats the story with you guys and gnomes?! :gnome:

  13. hey josh, thanks for all you are doing :)

i went to order a few parts on friday night and i didnt hit the complete button as the carriage was too dear. i have always paid about £5 for carriage but this kept saying £15
i ended up buying from another online supplier but JK was my first choice.
i needed some additional items, valued at less than £10. they are a JK exclusive so i went to order them and sure enough it was displaying £15 carriage.
then i realised my mistake, i hadnt pressed the quote button for carriage. i pressed it and the sub-total dropped by £10 as the carriage changed to £5.
the pain in the arse bit is that you lost a much larger sale and I ended up paying carriage for 2 companies

i have logged in since and its still the same so i dont think its a one off. maybe its something my end or maybe others are put off by this as well?
would it be possible for the carriage to default to 0 on the checkout screen until the customer requests carriage?

    Hi All,

I've just had a very excited Purchasing Manager appear at my desk with a sample of the brand new Codan fuel hose we're wanting to get in ;D

Everyone agrees that it looks great, and seems far better than what we're currently stocking, so we're just going to check and test it, and then I guess we'll be ordering a load in :D

We've still got a lot of stuff to go through, and I'm still waiting to hear back from some people about the issues they've had, but it's a big step on the way to fixing all these issues and goes to show that we are listening :)

Once we know if, when and how much we'll be getting I'll let you all know ^-^

    Thanks
    Josh

    Edited for spelling...

  18. nice one, thanks for updating us :)
