As for product testing. Happy to do this on your behalf. Had quite a few bits off you over the years - going back to early 90s but not much recently (ive still got some of those spots I havent fitted btw).

There was talk of inviting people down to test out samples of new products in our JK Workshop - but unfortunately we thought it up March just before things started to get manic around here again, so we had to put it on the back burner for a while.
I still think it's a great idea though, as we'd love to hear peoples honest, first hand opinions on products, so we might try and get that going once we start getting new products in this winter

On a related note, we're getting in some brand new Powerflex bushes for T4s and we're offering one member of the T4 Forum the chance to buy a set early so that they can fit and review them, and we'll then refund the price of the initial purchase once we've had the review in (assuming that it's good / long enough for us to use!).
If this goes well, we might start doing something similar with other products that we're getting in.

Obviously we're a seasonal business as people generally tend to use their buses less over the winter, so I'm really hoping that we can use this 'quiet' time to get all of these product issues resolved, any unsuitable stock removed and new improved items on the shelves so that we can make a fresh start in 2013.

People do generally use their buses during the 'nice weather' but the restorations keep going throughout the year!

This is very true - we're certainly not sat around twiddling our thumbs through the winter, but it definitely does get a bit quieter after around September, which will hopefully allow us a bit of time to get all of these problems sorted out

Well done for speaking out on a forum. Many other companies wouldn't bother.

I have to say JK have come a long way since the small unit in North Camp, but one thing I think would be good is a slightly larger public sales area, or more on display at Odiham.

Your sales team has always been good to me on the phone, or in person.

One part that puzzled me was the plastic glove box. Which needs a lot of trimming to reach the mould line.

Everything I have ordered has been delivered quickly and complete.

As a gent who enjoys a good sticker, please could you run a reprint of the classic JK van logo?!?

During the Resto of Marge over the last 3 years I've ordered 'god only knows how many' things from JK.
Never had any issues with them, always had good service, never had a problem returning anything.
I once remember being disappointed something didn't turn up with the order only to find out it was on 'back order'. But I can't remember if that was me being unobservant or JK not informing me.. Either way it hasn't put me off using them.

I will say that I did do a fair bit of research on most products before buying them. Occasionally JK might not have had good reviews about a product which led me to go elsewhere. I seem to remember this being the case with some door rubbers.. This might be why I've managed to avoid more disappointments.

Anyway, well done Josh for facing the firing squad! (Please provide more free burgers at the open day, I turned up to late and was Hank Marvin!)

Thanks Zed and Dicky - I guess we'd just assumed that people would tell us if a product was no good or if a product was worth stocking without trying to score brownie points with us, but maybe we need to re-think our plan.

We are seriously looking at getting feedback from the community about products that we're thinking about supplying though, so if you can think of a more impartial way of doing it just drop me a PM

- We'd love to have a larger public sales area, but space is a real issue here as our warehouse is in an old aircraft hangar!
It's a space that we've changed, rearranged, redesigned and tweaked dozens of times, but there's only so much we can do with the finite space we have.
It did used to be larger, and we used to display awnings in it but, somewhat ironically, we had to use some of the space to actually store the awnings :

We're aware that some products need to be seen before they're bought, so we always do our best to give as much information as possible if customers have questions, and whenever possible we'll go and fetch the products from our warehouse if we've got a customer in our store who wants to take a look at them. Also, our returns policy makes allowances for people having bought items they haven't seen 'in the flesh', which helps a little.

- I'll add the glove box liner to the list of products to investigate, thanks ;D

- We're looking at stickers at the moment, actually, so I'll make sure everyone is kept informed when we've made a decision about what we're doing with them

The burgers have always been a bit of an issue
This year we had a ticket system so that everyone who came in got a voucher for a free burger and a drink, which seemed to work a bit better
