Ive just palleted that AP 1800/1915 Im doing for TBR to finish off, keep him off the streets & ebay

  3. I'll race you
    :)

  4. 24hrs for a standard rebuild.... At least double that for a blueprinted beasty of a motor

But as Joker said, doing the bottom end bearings is a no brainer :)

No need to plastigauge the bearings, but you will need to measure the journals to make sure that it's all within tolerance... but being it's the short stroke crank, I very much doubt that it will be!!

  13. 1st of all I had to sound proof No.2 garage so I could run the noisy generator in there to give me power in No.1 garage.

So a big long flexi stainless exhaust terminating in a TZ350 exhaust through the eaves. It's so long the silencer doesn't even get past hand hot!
Next 30kg of soundproofing stuck on the inside of the garage door, drill a small hole from one garage to the other for the wires and hey presto! I have electrickery in the garage without the neighbours complaining or me going deaf/dyeing of CO poisoning.

  14. First I finished making the wheel centres for Bill's alloys then I decided to clear up the 3/4 tonne of swarf in the main garage as I suspect that it won't mix well with the engine in bits.

  15. @Keith.H turned up whilst I was vacuuming the garage with The Dyson, fortunately no pictures were taken. :)
Then the service bell rang for breakfast. :)

  16. Finally at 10.00 I started.
Some of the tins aren't in "new" condition.

  17. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg But some are very good.
    And so the strip commenced.

  18. One or two of the tin screws proved to be stubborn.

  19. Never mind, that was actually the ONLY one on the whole engine. :)
    Strip continues.
