got home bud the treatment was the same no change and the smoke was filling up the town lol,i need her fixed up buddy !! just need a push of what to replace and ill pop them in and give her a blip again !! looks to only be no 1 but is it worth doing both to have peace of mind
im home safe was quicker and cheaper in the yellow taxi lol ill have her fixed up in no time lol cheers for your help
Pop the valves out and see how much movement in the guides, if they are ok chuck a set of rings in it !!! Sounds a bit blazey but if you want to get back on the road quickly !!!
Pull the barrels of the pistons and have a look at the rings Then it could be a very worn valve guide if its not a stuck or snapped ring
But if he drops half a collet of a valve will he be able to get another one before he needs the engine back together If the rings are all complete and as they should be then of course strip the head If hes missing half a scraper ring then the heads are fine but wheres the rest of the ring
Could break a ring easier than loosing a collet (unless you remove it on your lawn) !!! ps @1973daisey if you drop a collet at any time I have a spare
i just been looking is there 2 collets on each valve and these hold in the groves which hold the valve in !! been reeding
