One pound of wire feed at a time will get you there. I'm waiting to see if the spring comes or I start vanning again, to see if I get down and dirty with my rusty bits!.
didn't get a lot else done, cut out a bit of a bodge on the rear corner and have started to piece it together. going to take a lot of time and effort this rear arch, hope the other one isnt as bad! hopefully get a couple of hours on it today, but i've got to service my trailer ready for the markets!
So did a bit on Saturday as rain out a halt to work. Still working on the rear tub and it seems to be taking an age Welded in a few bits So shiny! Unfortunately got the paradox screwdriver out and found this More work Also found some more plating on the chassis care of the po So yet more chopping out required Managed to get a bit more metal welded onto the back of the tub, just nerd to figure out how it goes so if anyone has pics of the rear of their arch tub I'd greatly appreciate it!
Do you regret not replacing the whole tub? Yours appears to be mostly rust and it's an awkward shape to make bits for...
Completely mate. It was always a financial decision and it is taking me an age, but it's been a good way to improve my metal working and welding skills if anything, think I might go for the new rub on the other side. That's one less Xmas present for poppy lol
I've done one or two like that - starts off looking like a couple of areas but you can end up with a tub made entirely from patches. For some reason the rear tubs are great at surviving as two layers of shiney paint with rust between them.
Don't I know it mate. The chassis seems to have take a hammering on this side too. Luckily the chassis on the other side looks sound so just the tub to do there......... Oh and the arch, sills, outriggers, front arch, battery tray and rear corner lol
so i got peed off and bit the bullet! should have listened to zed in the first place lol £85 quid worse off, but thanks to bigrich and the lovely cool air, half the price of their competitors!!!!!!!!!
ha ha, if only! so short on time at the moment, almost got a local restorer to do some work on it for me, but the wallet said no!
Don't be so bloody stupid. We'll see the redirection of Christ before this bus is finished. Well that or I'll get over this little phase in my life, find the girl of my dreams and get married to her.
