Do you think we're actually ever going to leave?

  1. I don't get the we must have an election, the government was voted in on the back of offering referendum, that was the deal we had the referendum made a choice and now they can manage the process. What do you want us to vote in Corbyn so he can have a go at a piece of the action.

  5. who knows what will happen. my point was a ssumple as the majority of our elected representatives didn't want this but have e clear/not clear result so what do they do? Scotland and NI very clearly want to remain in the EU. London clearly wants to stay in the EU. England and Wales outside London and Cardiff clearly want to leave. So far so easy. My main point is that Leave had no settled agenda other than exit, they have no policies and can't agree on NHS funding or even immigration. The vast majority of people who voted to leave are about to feel very let down as all those things they think they voted for evaporate. Me? I suspect we are fu(*ked as a nation, an economy and a world power BUT I recognise we are where we are, we are leaving so we need a plan and fast and I will do all I can to support it. BORIS, WHERE ARE YOU BORIS?

  6. perhaps - but parliament governs the country not a referendum which only advises the government. I don't remember hearing whether a referendum is legally binding on parliament to put it through - but I maybe wrong.

Just because we had a referendum doesn't mean we have to leave, it's up to whoever is in power to press the exit button. Cameron won't do it, he's bottled out. Boris wants to be PM, if he wants to be there long he's got to win a general election.
Out vote was 51% of 70% of electorate so actually more like 35% not really a majority. Any party who fancies their chances on a remain tag might still have a good chance, if the young who are bleating the old have sold their future down the river can be mobilised to get off their arses and actually vote, who knows the outcome

  8. My son has just looked at the petition page and commented how many signatures are from America.
Makes you think how many off these people are non registered voters, from other countries, under 18's, voters who are not eligible to vote in the referendum. Etc etc.

I am quite content to be out. I do like the intrigue of it all now though. The petition thing just adds to the drama.

You have to admit, it's all very damage limitation on one side and a lot of recrimination on the other. I don't think any of them actually thought we would vote out.

  20. This country was in a very big mess long before the referendum and captain pugwash was re elected , We had to have almost zero interest rates to stop the country going bankrupt just like greece etc , remember financial crisis ?? 2008 banks bailed out by who ?? or have you younguns forgot that? So they have bumbled along hoping printing money we havnt got will sort it out , erm yeh short term , NHS ,our infrastructure services and pension funds for our future pensioners!! all had to suffer . so stop bigging them twerps up , conned i call it , oh inflating property prices will help us out ha ha , but not our youngsters huh but now who are they laying the blame on huh , people who saw thru them and thought its time you faced up to what you have done to this country selling it up the river to any tom dick or harry who will help them out short term so know one finds out .
Now you are seeing what they are made of and how patriotic they are , Sorry guys you rumbled us , we are off and before we go we will drop you all right init , and lay blame at those that dont matter!! do as we say or else britain. No silver spoons for mine they like me have had to work dammed hard for what they have , so stop ya winging n get on with it , sorry im really cross too, i know who sold us up the swaney .
