  1. Slam tyres on the pickup. Was only really doing 50 in a 60 zone. ;)

  3. Cheers Chris - will do.

  4. Fantastic, I'll ask Father Christmas. :)

  5. Late bay gauges ready to go. prototype bay gauges fully supplied with centre ring ready late next week. :)

  6. I got mine as promised few weeks ago, but took a while till I got round to fitting it and even longer give a review  but here it is:

I'd run some cables previously from the dash to to the engine bay and already planned ahead to run a tacho one, so fitting it was a breeze, with the handy instructions provided. Tried it out on a long run and it works great, no complaints! The only thing was the illumination is green when my other bulbs have lost their green caps :(, but a very quick investigation found you can just pull the bulb holders out the back of the tacho and the green caps off the bulbs. Easy

As an added bonus I discovered at the same time, if you rotate the headlight switch it acts as a dimmer for the dash lights! I've owned my bus for years and never knew that  I was always really annoyed how dim the dash was to the point it was useless in the dark, turns out I had it turned down all the way. Now check it out! (cue ooohs and ahhhs)

Of course the perfectionist in me now sees how discoloured the speedo needle is o_O, I'll add it to the todo list for "restoring". Not sure if this takes precedence over sorting out the heating before winter, depends how much the gf complains....

  7. Good helpful post.
The speedo needle is Vintage, its the tacho needle that needs to dulled down!!
I think you need an MPH dial on you speedo, I've just had one fitted to my left hooker.

  9. Good spot, but I guess that depends which country your bus is registered in, I'm not sure the German TüV would be too happy about it ;)

  10. I see you are in the fatherland:thumbsup: Alles Klar!
I imported my bus from Nigeria via Dubai.
It passed the MOT roadworthy inspection back in 1989, with the Kph speedo.
When I imported my BMW from Munich in 2009 , the first thing I had to do was change my speedo dial to MPH to comply with current legislation
I've since read a convincing arguement on here, that, although you might get through the MOT with a Kph speedo, if you have an accident, then the "Gestapo" and your insurance will take a dim view.
I have obtained a MPH / KPH dial (from a California bus) which covers all bases, both here and when we cross the canal and visit the fatherland.

  15. Are these still available?

  16. Yes they are. Only 2 black faced dials left. Probably won't be making any more late bay tachs after these 2.

  17. Well I'd better have one then please.

Those look really good but a Smiths RVC 1414/00F is still better match for my ’77 speedo. And they are always available on eBay for a few quid.

  19. Fair enough, you're entitle to your opinion but I think it's only fair you don't link competitors products on my for sale thread. ;)
