Ok so after the bit of white smoke on left side now pulled up in town and lots of it constant !! Engine sounds and runs ok but lots of smoke , this was the carb that played up before ?? Could it be fuel or some thing ? Yesterday was bit of smoke when putting foot down !! Just called AA as got kids
I no bud think may be carb chucking to much fuel in as it stops some times ? I'll see what he says !! Gotta get it fixed up this week off to the Wirral next Friday !!! She will be sound (I hope) got tools just not sure with smoke !
Might just be oil dripping on hot exhaust or valve cover gasket leaking onto heat exchanger? T1 upright engine?
Did i see a post a couple of weeks ago saying they was getting white smoke after parking on hills ? I think they said it was a bad gasket letting oil threw but only after parking on hills when warm
Because it runs ok its the white smoke is most likely oil. I would imagine its piston rings. A pity because your resto is so recent. Over fuelling would be sootier and greyer.
Ok the unburnt oil is white or it was on mine with worn valve guides. But if the engine still runs ok then overfuelling wouldnt be the cause aa it will be down on power and smoky.
When you get somewhere safe and have time to check , take each plug out and see which one is oily? You might be lucky with just 1 chamber?
Ok so aa man came shuved His finger up her hole and said yeah that's oil so quick leason on how to fix / spot signs on wear allso can I strip one side with engine still in ?? Just waiting for the big yellow taxi
Bummer. I'd be inclined to rip the whole thing apart. Assuming they bothered to put new b+p's in I doubt it's limited to just rings if at all. Could be worn valve guides. Get compression checked before you start pulling it apart. Did you check terms of your warranty, is it worth anything?
and i'd be saying "serves you right for overfilling with oil and admitting to it on the internet...."
