  1. I wouldn’t use hydraulic hose on hot oil. It will end in tears...

  2. Surfboard on the roof. Head in the engine compartment

  3. Finally got my sliding window sorted.

The catch has been broken for over 6 years, meaning anyone could just slide the window open.

@davidoft kindly pointed me in the direction of a new catch a while back.

I couldn't get the old catch out of the window so enlisted an engineer friend who drilled a bigger hole so the screw would come out.

Today was old catch removal day. Same problem - the screw was undone but wouldn't come out. Getting the screw with the window in place was far more difficult than it should have been.

  4. Today also saw my swing out devon cooker being finished off.

Not only does it swing out, it also stays in place when I'm driving.

A massive bolt has replaced the ratchet strap which was holding it in place!

Checked the oil level. Gone down a tiny bit since I last looked.

  12. My dellortos have tiny little filters in them, so perhaps it was a bit of plastic from a carb filter

  14. Thanks for the offer. I’ve actually got a spare, but will likely just swap the front bearing out.

Torqued the plug up to the spec 3.5mkg today quite happily so I’m putting this down to me not being thorough with tightening the thing up in the first place!

Surprisingly so! I always though you weren’t supposed to do them too tight to avoid stripping threads but now I know.
