As a teacher I often had to substitute for the PE staff if they were absent ( I was the cross country coach as well as a science teacher) - the non-kitters had to wear whatever they found in the lost property kit box to avoid a detention - that stuff really stank!
Difficult one. Muhammed Ali Alex Ferguson Martina Navratilova There are lots that I can think of. I guess the ones who stand out have been either exceptional and/or done things to progress the game or stand against social injustice
Martina absolutely. My mum liked her, as much as anything as an antidote to Chris Evert. Same here, I loved that aggressive serve/volley style of hers. I loved McEnroe too, though I imagine if I’d been playing him at the time I might have wanted to punch his lights out at times
My family have strict instructions that if I ever develop an interest in golf, I am to be euthenised immediatley.
Graham Hill. I won a raffle prize which was presented to me by Graham Hill, it was an ashtray with all the racing drivers autographs on. I was 13. My mum broke it.
