As you say, fearless and utterly fearsome and ruthless. I remember when Bruno fought him, and Bruno caught him a few times, with Harry Carpenter saying “Come on Frank!”…. but you knew in your heart of hearts it was not going to end well for Frank.

Ali’s jab would have had him wondering what had hit him as it did most of his opponents, 7 jabs quick as lightning shuffle gone..

    Jonathan Davies yes.

Blisteringly good at Union, if anything, better at league.

Faced genuine adversity in his personal life and raised £35million thus far for Velindre cancer centre.

oh yeah, when we denied England a slam and hammered them in 2013….his expression!!

I also loved to watch and follow boxing especially the era's of Nigel Benn ,Eubanks and Michael Watson but kinda disillusioned with the sport after lame mismatches and boxers being mismanaged and ripped off by their management and cronies . Steve Redgrave I admired for his determination especially after being diagnosed with Diabetes and then going on to win his final gold medal . Andy Murrays grit I like although he does not come across great in interviews .

I've met Leonard and Duran. Leonard was seriously boring, Duran looked like a homeless person but had some funny story's to tell.

I think it’s an era thing. Cunny mentioned a true football legend earlier’ Sir Stanley Mathews’ few of us would have had the pleasure of seeing him play but if we had we may have the same opinion in his greatness, paid very little, no sports physio, played with a Casey, no subs, 20. a day, and played until he was 50.

When we talk of modern boxers they go 12 rounds, Ali, Frazier, foreman, Joe Louis, they went 15!

It’s just a question of your own sporting hero really!
