Most my Dads cars where utter shyte.... but one I would have is his old Rover 2000 tc...... which now I think about it, was also utter shyte, and broke down every time we went out in it. Oh, he also had a 3500 vitesse which was very comfy to fall asleep in the back of...

It was probably a Friday. Casual clothes at the office. Knowing how I spent expenses those days, it was likely a cashmere or lambs wool school jumper.

  3. Thinking back as far as I can...

Morris Oxford (split-screen poached egg model)
    Hillman Minx
    Humber Sceptre x 2 (awful)
Rover 2000 SC and TC (TC in nice shade of metallic turquoise)
    Rover SD1s x 2 (great cars, but water-filled rot-boxes)
Mercedes 123 2.3 (more of a motorised sofa than a car)

I'd have an SD1. Or the TC.

We had a maxi for a while. Nice motors. What has happened to them all?

  5. VW Rabbit (caddy?) Pickup Truck, not the coolest or most valuable, but the one I have the best memories in.

One of those was what my Dad finally gave up on Cortinas for. It was the newest car we ever had. R reg, white, ex demo from the little garage in town. He obviously wasn't too impressed coz he chopped it in for an N reg Capri a year later... Yellow with a br0wn vinyl roof and br0wn interior. Aah the stylish 70's ;)

  8. My dad had numerous cars , he was born in 1923 . In new york city .He told me stories like going over the brooklyn bridge they run out of gas and pea in th tank to get the remainder gas to come up . Dont know if thats a true story .
He had a 65 mustang fastback four speed when he was dating my mom ,mid life crisis car , i guess . and then my stupid ass popped out .
And he sold it for a super beetle with a sunroof. Sold that pice of sh't , and bought a 70 chevelle malibu .
In 76 he bought a little subaru . . He told me to not get married and have kids ,,,when he looked at his old pictures...,,i listened ,,
The mustang looked like this , this isnt it but its the same ..
Overall American old cars are the coolest , thers no argument . Some brits cars granted . But usa cars are badass. I had a 66 gto .6.6 litre , a . Ss chevy nova and 56 power wagan . 66 dodge dart gt .86 mustang gt convertable . Etc image.jpg

  9. All of my dad's cars were crap to be honest......

The only collectable one worth having now I suppose was an Avenger he had which was alright, but the rest, meh.

  10. His wouldn't start so sold it for £50 to a local mechanic. Saw it driving round again 4 weeks later it had 2 beige panels fitted to it (it was blue). Maybe it was to mask the rest of the rust.

Very early 1970's Escort van in dark green with gold leaf lettering on the sides - signwritten by my grandfather working at Smeeds Smart Signs in Herne Bay - just a water company van. My mother still has the roll of gold leaf. No seats in the back, I think it involved carry cots for small children or just rolling around with all the junk in the back.

  18. i had one of these after my lotus cortina :(
