your dad's cars. Which one do you wish you had now?

Up to me being 14 my dad had mainly had aircooled VWs and in fact for 10 of those yeas the same early bay so I guess I'd like to have that but also maybe one of the Fastbacks we had or from his later forays into water coolers perhaps the 1979 Range Rover he restored and fitted a new Perkins Diesel engine to.

 

Same here -never had a car as a kid as dad never took his test - but my uncle always had cars - I loved his old Austin 10 which had that lovely smell of leather, wood and mildew . Here it is in 1954 (it was old even then) - me sat on bumper on the left with my binoculars. Can you tell where it was taken?

 

I'd have them all cos they was/is tis/was all classics

Well apparently my dad used to have a P1800S... Although there has never been any pics or anything, if he did have one then it would have to be that.
Always had volvo estates when I was alive though, before he got his long overdue ban..
So out of the ones I experienced, the proper old round headlight 240 estate would be cool. Strange how times change!

 

My sister's old pea-green Viva HB. Rotted to pieces, but was quite a jolly car.

 

My dad's brown Hillman Hunter or his white Beetle. Although he said the Beetle was the worst car he ever owned.

 

None he had crap taste in cars.

Actually 7 in the car that time as my dad was taking the photo - I just remember thinking the car was huge at the time - but it was tiny by today's standards

And he was right!

 

Have to say that a Beetle that I hired for a weekend in 1974 is the worst car I have ever driven ( and I have owned a mini, 2 Marinas and a Montego amongst many others)
