My dad is a Ford man in the main,so it was only his Zephyr I might have liked from his Fords. He did have a Victor 101 estate I liked, and a Wolsey 6, but when I was very small he had a Vauxhall Wyvern. And that's the one I would like to have today.

Which one of your dad's cars would you like to own now?

  3. A blue TVR Chimera 5litre v8, it went quite fast, but it was made up of parts from various manufacturers

  4. His old bay camper that was rolled on the motorway but restored after.

  5. I only remember us having a maxi and an ambassador. I'd have to have the maxi as dad gassed himself in the ambassador.

my dad had a white 1600e mk2 cortina on a h reg which was nice, he crashed it drunk driving tho (this was the 70's tho)
then he got a k reg marina 1800 deluxe which he crashed - well a motorbike hit him.
my grandad then gave him his old d reg austin cambridge as he'd upgraded to a morris oxford, this one sticks in my mind the best.

    Steve,

  8. We had aircooled vw' s when I was a kid so I think it would have to be the '69 fastback which he bought new but had rusted away by about 1977 when he got a polo !

  11. I can't think of any I'd really like, most of his cars were rubbish even back then!

  12. Mantas (and Cavalier Sports Hatches) rule. Wish I still had mine...

Best car my Dad had was one of the first Rover V8 manuals (P6 style). Went like a rocket...

  13. A few Manta men on here....I had a few including a red GTE coupe Exclusive and a GTE coupe that I fitted a 16v redtop in and it was Gold:D
    Keep looking on ebay..

  14. I'd buy a 1600E tomorrow if I could find a decent one.

  15. Back in the mid-80's dad had a small rear light Mk1 Golf. It was only the 1.1, but someone had sprayed it black (and had painted the piping down the sides 0range) and stuck a twin-light GTi grill (complete with GTi badge!) on it. A real sheep in wolf's clothing! I wish I had that - I'd do a 20vt conversion or a 1.4TSI conversion on it. It was a 3 door shell too.

  16. sadly I do ...cant believe the price of them now  especially the exclusives!

traded mine in for £600 :( the wheels were probably worth that DOH!!!

My red GT before that was nothing but trouble though :D

  17. I'd love to have his old Volvo P1800 (ie as also driven by The Saint). Always remember the look on people's faces when they realised it was a Volvo and not sone exotic marque! His other car at the time was a Volvo 145... not quite so sexy!
