Completed all the flatting and polishing with the exception of the roof today. I am over the moon with the resulting finish. I am now going to turn my attention to the dormobile roof. I need to fibre glass in a stainless steel strengthener where the hinges bolt on. Here's a couple of shots from today
Dude your banned from ever parking next to me at a show Well i will allow it if both our busses are upside down lol Ive not seen a shine like that from celly since the early 90s proper good job dude
Cheers mate, made me laugh too! Looking forward to getting to some shows sometime next year & meeting more Latebayers. Have done a bit of work on the roof cap during the last few weekends. I fibre glassed a stainless steel strengthener inside the roof cap on the hinged side as the original metal had rusted away. I had intended to prep and paint the roof, but decided to do a few gelcoate repairs and flat and polish instead. Here's a few pics... Roped Vanhassan into helping with the polishing! I'm going to flow coat the inside of the roof to hide the rough fibreglass next. Then its roof on time. Fitted the locks etc back onto the sliding door and got it on the van as was sick of moving it in and out of the garage every time I want to move the van. That's it for now.
Managed to get some time to spend on the bus last Sunday. Fitted some sound deadening and aluminium insulation. That's all for now!
ive not caught up on your thread in a long while, I must say its looking stunning - cant wait to see it kitted out!!
Thanks for your kind comments. Got some more done today. Door handles and lock mechanisms now fitted on tailgate and front doors. Also got some more insulation and sound proofing fitted on the front doors and front panel. Headlining will be the next task, hopefully at the weekend.
Should be nice quiet and warm by the time you get done....looks like it will be an excellent bus all round. I like the fact that you've paid as much attention to detail on the parts that no one will see.... Now would be a great time time to do any groundwork and sealing if you're considering putting a good quality sound system in....especially if fitting door speakers...
Been a while since I last checked this one, so I went through it again I said it last time, but I'll say it again your skills are awesome fella.
