You mean guitar showing off then?

I prefer something more subtle that eccentuates a song, rather than the song being there as an excuse for someone to play lots of notes fast.

If you had been a teenager in the 70's you'd be so sick of this track you'd run a mile to avoid it. This for me is the perfect example of all I hate about guitar solo's. And why I was so, so happy when punk came along to broaden the horizons a bit.

Not a mahoosive fan of the ostentatious solo. Like a good catchy riff or grind that complements the choon! so so many to chose from.

I nearly topped myself when I started liking Floyd. There ive said it - I like Floyd. Do I really mean that GOD!

I'm still stuck in the let 70s and early 80s mostly - cant help it.

My fave extraordinarily long mid is predominantly hammond organ and Bass on Stranglers' down in the sewer, or indeed any stranglers non-pop song. Has to be loud and I need to be a couple of pints down the road for full effect.
