As someone with limited political knowledge and opinion (other than my hatred of Bristol City Council - labour) surely we’re now screwed?

  2. Indeed we'll be screwed for every penny of tax he can justify

  3. I've seen a photo of Rishi in a flat cap, must have been taken in his Yorkshire constituency.
I fear we are in for another comedian......

  4. To be fare in all of my voting years I don’t remember any government on either side doing things for us the nhs has been underfunded since I can remember along with all the other public services. Even when they were public owned the gas electric telecoms run like crap because you had ministers in charged that changed every 4/8/12 years with no forward planning at all. I still think it’s time for a new way to do it and sack the lot but it would be like getting turkeys to vote for Christmas not going to happen.

  6. I suppose that would be the only way you would get some wisdom in Parliament.

One of the end games of this idiotic set up is we end up needing a loan from the IMF without a means to pay for it.. Last time we had North Sea Oil to pay back the loan.

The insistence on having our own special brand of fools to "take back control" is starting to really annoy.

I have had a few chats with paid up members of the Conservative Party over the past few days and they seem pretty depressed by the goings on too.

Might secure the Asian vote for the next election if radio 4 reporting is anything to go by, and it’s a sizeable chunk of the vote.

I can't think of a worse time to have an election. With the economy in turmoil, the last thing we need is more uncertainty. I don't recall Labour offering any solutions to the problem but I'm sure you can remind me.

What we need now is stability and unity to get the country back on its feet and I think Sunak has the support, the ability, the knowledge and the contacts to do that. Just because he's a Tory doesn't mean he wants to screw everyone for his own benefit!

  10. I was with you right up until the last line. Of course he wants to screw everyone for his own benefit. He’s a politician for gods sake.

  11. Think we heard you the first time. Quick google might edify your as to labours intentions.

  12. The trouble with Labours intentions which I sort of agree with is the amount of money required to do it and there is none. If they came in now it would take them at least 2/3 years to get to the point where they can start to implement there plans without crashing the markets. So it would be better for them to allow the current clowns to stabilise the finance’s and give them a more stable footing in a couple of years.

  13. Stop letting the facts get in the way of a good rant. That’s the problem with giving people a vote on something they can’t be bothered to read up on! Just passively or subliminally feed them negative propaganda and then a choice to make and the jobs done! Stories about straight bananas and similar banal fantasies will suffice!

  14. Two more years of Tory ideology is 2 years closer to death and two years of having your face pushed into the mud! That said some of us seem to like that and can’t get enough!

  15. At the end of the day we can all complain as much as we want but there is no mandate to have an election until the term is up or the current Tory government decide to and I refuse to get wound up or worry about something we have no control over for a couple of years. So I will just cut my cloth to stay afloat and enjoy life as much as poss :)
