No rain down here but really bad winds, blown three panels down

  4. it's grim oop north!

  5. Possible 300mm rain forecast in next 18 hours. About the same as that which flooded Cockermouth 8ft deep in 2009 plus dam at thirlmere reservoir opened to lower water level. River from there flows though Keswick towards Cockermouth. :(

  9. We were in Ambleside 2 weeks ago = pretty wet then - A591 through Ambleside is now closed due to flooding - glad we're not there this weekend - it's wet and windy in West Lancs which is bad enough with one fence panel out - hope you don't get flooded @Zebedee .

Luckily we're on a hill way above the nearest river but just means its more windy. Had wind gusts recorded at 86mph in our garden last night.

Theres loads of walls and fences blown down, the odd tree or two, a large wooden stable in the field behind us and a citroen ragtop with no roof now. Just down the road the whole side of an empty factory was blown over and its roof lifted.
