How do you get a mortgage without house insurance, previously flooded areas aren't usually insurable? If people didn't buy them developers wouldn't build them.
Yep. There was a coal mine in Flimby just south of Maryport but the whole area is riddled with mine workings and nearly every pub is named The Miners Arms.
We purchased a house in Grantham on mortgage which no one would insure due to backing onto river, we wen back to bank a told them if they are willing to lend for purchase they must be willing to insure and they did.
