You can actually price it up on Fellow's website. The 20% VAT added on at the end smarts a bit. There are a lot of options.
Will have a look but i think ive established that selling my turnkey type 4 will leave me significantly short on t he cost!
Its something like £5700 + vat now so a lot of money. If you can do it yourself like Matt did then it's a no brainer. I couldn't but if I had another bus I'd happily pay again.
Just had a look £ 6900 inc vat + if you want a heater, chrome bits and water pipes ect, ect, it's loads more
If it helps, when I rebuilt my type 4 it included gasket kit, b+p, camshaft and gear, bearings, valves and guides, full exhaust and heater risers, tin wear, ancillaries and shortly followed up with carbs.... rebuilt at home for about £3k iirc. Had to rebuild again after 6 months tho!
You can do a Scooby install cheap if you do it yourself, and you have the facility to make as many of the bits as possible. I just bought the absolute minimum from RJES, and then cobbled the rest together using as much as I could salvage from the £150 Impreza. Its no show pony, but it works, and does 0-60 in under 10 secs..
I was going to keep my type 4 then realised it would just sit in the garage collecting dust until I sold it. In the end I couldn't see the point so sold it.
Seems to be easy to go from scooby to type 4 if you kept all the bits. But why would you. If ever a scooby engine goes they are currently a few hundred quid.
Yeah yeah Now Now Bristol I did teach you the difference Between the different steering boxes Remember now Stuff your Subaru up your rrs Nipper Ah Ha ha!
VFR 800 motorbike throttle bodies , machined down injectors , crank fire ignition ,coil per plug ...mini supercharger
It would be easy enough to reverse dude, refit the original bell housing and your away. Oh, I did weld two small brackets to the chassis for the engine brace bar, but they are easy enough to get a grinder to if I wanted to remove them.
