Hi, we had problems yesterday getting to the event. going north on the A3 we passed the junction with the queue up into Kingston and doubled back around the back. still some traffic but seemed to take about 35-40 mins rather than 4 hours!!

I spent ages looking the TLB pitch and was really shocked to find you stuck in the very corner, way out of sight yet the parade ring is all spilts and early bays!! even the T4 and T5 crowds were bigger!!

Thinks we need to build us some show cars guys!! :D

  2. nice to meet some of you saturday, sunday was a blur, brandon slept from 6.30 sat night till 9ish sunday morning, and we spent most of the morning playing at the campsite, managed a quick wizz round and off after lunch, Thanks to Jen for sorting out the displays

  3. Nice to put some faces to names, thanks Jen for putting it all together, and well done everyone involved for a full display both days,

  4. First show for a newbie
Lovely to see Birdy, Jen and the Hangovers again after the Winter Camp... a little warmer today.

Very much agree with some of the comments below
    VERY orientated towards splits.
Very suprised, in [glow=red,2,300]FACT[/glow] shocked that no Late bay club bit in the central arena. Has someone pee'd someone off?
You did get a nice little area but was tucked away/hard to find.
Do you get to post any feedback??
I had hoped/expected to see a few later Devons (Moonrakers/Sundowners) to compare/get a few ideas... oh well!

    Hope everyone remembered their suncream!

  6. I did notice that because you are tucked away, people would come to the top of the little hill, look then turn around and walk away. You guys need a better spot!

  8. Deffo jealous for you guys - weather was amazin (and Birdy's got legs!!). But after a hard day on sat juggling with a windscreen wiper motor all Reggie could manage was a day chillin in Bosham by the seaside.

Hope you made enough noise to let them know the TLB's were there. Seems like you could have done with a fire pit maestro on Saturday night.

Hope to see you all at summer camp if nothin in between.

  9. glad to hear everybody got back safe and sound. Really enjoyed today and was nice to meet so many friendly people. Thanks for making us feel welcome :)

There was some beautiful vans on show and as usual volksworld does have the cream of the crop but i kinda get bored of splittys and slammed early's. Would be nice if TLB was given the same ammount of credit as the rest as everybody puts the same effort in. Still the area we had was nice and chilled and at least we could kick back and relax in the sun without being barged around.

I met quite a few members today and had some interesting conversations. Cheers to everyone who kept ryan entertained , it was a long day for a boy with more energy than a country wippet!

Lastly massive thanks to Jen for organising everything, Grand job :) Karma + your way

Ray you legend we were indeed in need of a fire pit maestro :)

Auto jumble upstairs was excellent. Bought the handle for my tailgate project for £2. Just need the little insert now and a licence plate surround.

With regards to inspiration it was all a matter of taking your time and looking. Being there for 2 days did enable me to do this and I did one last swoop on Sunday afternoon when it got quieter. Some engine porn out there. Some shocking too like the bus for sale with the 5 litre plastic jerry can sitting on the Empty battery tray.

And I hear what your all saying about the TLB display area but in fairness to VoWo we were given the opportunity to display 10 buses on Saturday and Sunday last year. We failed. Only 2 showed up on Sunday. With a result like that they aren't exactly going to be coming at TLB with open arms and offering us a pride of display area. Let's hope we can start to change that over the next few years.

However they really do need to up their game and sort out their rubbish communications. I'm still waiting for an e mail reply from last year

  13. Thanks to all for a great weekend.

We really enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Many thanks to Jen and Rich for organising us all so well, hope the van carried on running after our 5 man, two girl jump start !

    All the best

    Mark and Alison

  14. It was great to meet some other members today. Finally got to meet Birdy after seeing his fab van around. Thanks to Wokinggaz for letting my little boy play with Ryan in his van. It was the highlight of his show.

  15. My gripes:

    £15 a person for a day ticket
£6.50 a burger (that was raw in the middle)
    Lack of latebays generally
1 1/2hr que to get in
Terrible plot for the latebay lineup (only by chance did I see it)

  16. Thanks to Jen for organising, was a great show for me mostly down to the meeting of some nice friendly members and some almost perfect weather, will try and post a few photos and sort a video edit out. Cheers

    Lee.

  17. We decided to take our own food this year as it cost an arm and a leg last time. Hope the burger doesn't make you ill!

  18. Birdy,

Totally agree with your point on the 10 van aspect.

We really enjoy Volksworld, the show, the camp etc., and will commit to showing year on year, so as to ensure numbers etc.,

Looking forward to growing our presence over the coming years.

  19. I also made myself a packed lunch as show food prices are always a lot. My daily treat was an ice cream from the split screen ice cream co.
