Turning away large sale in the current climate

  1. Just emailed custom and commercial with a long list of parts(basically every mechanical component on a beetle floorpan) so obviously going to be a large chunk of money... he has the order, all he has to do is tell me how much...
    Recieved a message back you can price all this on the website!!
    What would you do??

  5. They're not turning away your custom but things unfortunately change which i don't like either . You price it on the website then negotiate a discount...
    If you don't like that walk away and look elsewhere...

  7. No time lol, 5 months of work to catch up on, just spoken to coolair and they're happy to price it. So they get the order.

    They'll also get the order for all the Body parts etc in a few months time...

    Can't believe they're happy to turn away a large order
     
  8. I've stopped using C&C because they won't take phone calls , just my little protest but lost them 275 quid ...

    Are you saying they didn't want to take the order, or that they didn't want to price a list of items. There's a big difference.
     
  10. Fair enough. I just had a similar experience with Schofields after spending 1000s with them over the years. So I went elsewhere too.

    For my tuppence worth, I prefer to check each part is the right one myself. It's easy enough to do and just put everything on the wish list or in the basket. I prefer Coolair by far anyway - always mega helpful and give you discount. With them I do as above and put the items in the basket then ring them. He can see the basket contents and we check each part over the phone.

    I gave up with schofields when all their large panels started arriving mashed up jammed in old bicycle boxes. lol

    And JK never had everything I wanted.

    Heritage used to be good on the phone with knowledgable staff but I doubt they still are. Their website has degenerated into a maze.

  14. I stopped using them as I have a £25 voucher someone bought me, they charge £26 to deliver here ! Nearly everyone else is free. They can go swivel

  15. Yes. They had the order.
    They had a list of the main parts and I said, anything else you think ive missed, clips adjusters seals etc add them to the order...
    Switch card was on standby

    I've done my welding though, just bits and bobs to do, new chrome handles, heat exchangers etc.

    Heritage used to be good for this, if I ordered a crap part they'd say even when they didn't have an alternative in stock and back in they day they had everything while their competitors were creaming the busy lines and camping gear.

  19. Heritage is staffed by pompous foreigners.....they called me a racist because I referred to the lady in customer care as foreign!! She is lol

    It would have taken you longer to type out a list than just doing it yourself on the website?
    Also, by asking them to add anything you’d missed they’d have been worried about you whinging at them if they missed anything.
    You’d have got the same response from me.
